Sydni and Filip {Intimate Wickham Park Wedding}

Some wedding days feel quiet in the very best way. They are intentional, emotional, and deeply rooted in meaning. Sydni and Filip’s Wickham Park intimate wedding was exactly that. On a warm summer evening, surrounded by gardens in full bloom, they exchanged vows with their closest family and friends beside them, fully present and soaking in every moment.

Wickham Park is one of our favorite places to photograph intimate weddings, and this day was a perfect example of why. The gardens created a romantic, peaceful backdrop that felt both elevated and relaxed. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt performative. It was simply about Sydni and Filip committing their lives to one another, with the people who matter most standing just a few feet away.

We photographed their ceremony and portraits, and one moment in particular still stands out. Right after the ceremony, as the emotion of it all settled in, Sydni turned back to look at their family and friends. It was quiet and unprompted. It was just a pause to take it all in. It was perfect. In their pre-wedding questionnaire she shared that she wanted to remember the exact feelings of their day forever. That image perfectly captures the heart of their wedding day: gratitude, connection, and presence.

Their wedding planning journey, though, wasn’t without its challenges. Like many couples planning a smaller celebration, Sydni and Filip were surprised by how all-consuming the process became. Even with the intention of keeping things simple, they quickly realized how many details go into creating a wedding day, no matter the size. While the stress felt overwhelming at times, they knew that once the day arrived, it would all be worth it. What they looked forward to most was exactly what they got: being married, turning their brains off, and finally relaxing together.

Sydni’s dress story is one many couples will recognize. She shopped with her mom, sister, and Filip’s mother, eventually finding her dress after several trips. She knew she wanted something plain and simple, which proved harder to find than expected in a sea of lace, beading, and cutouts. Even when she found the dress, there was no dramatic “yes to the dress” moment. Instead, there were photos, a few days of sitting with the decision, and then a call back to make it official. It was honest, thoughtful, and completely true to who Sydni is. And the result was effortlessly elegant.

One of the things we loved most about their Wickham Park intimate wedding was how intentionally they chose to celebrate with their guests. Sydni and Filip made it a point to take a photo with every single person who attended. It was important to them to document not just the ceremony, but the people who showed up for them. Those images are more than portraits. They’re memories of shared laughter, support, and love that filled the garden that evening.

Their advice to other couples is refreshingly real. Wedding planning can be overwhelming, even when you think you’re keeping things small. Balancing the idea that it’s “just one day” with the reality that it’s a deeply important day can be tough. Their biggest takeaway? Give yourselves grace, dream within your means, and know that you’re not alone if the process feels harder than expected.

After the wedding, Sydni and Filip headed off to Aruba for their honeymoon, drawn by warm weather, good drinks, beautiful sunsets, and a destination that didn’t require much additional planning. After a year of wedding prep and a move just months before the big day, it was exactly what they needed.

Sydni and Filip’s Wickham Park intimate wedding was meaningful, heartfelt, and beautifully intentional. It was an honor to photograph a day so focused on connection, memory-making, and love in its truest form.
