Leah and Nick {Lake House Engagement Session}

Leah and Nick’s lake house engagement session was absolutely incredible! When they asked us if we’d travel to their special spot, we immediately said, “Yes!” Being a private home, we had obviously never been there and didn’t know what to expect. We knew their photos would be perfect, because it’s a spot special to them, but had no idea what to expect when we got to there. To say we were blown away would be an understatement. I can see why this property is so special to their family. It was an honor photographing them here, and I’m so glad they thought to do their engagement session in this spot. Their session at their cherished lake house was perfect.  And with their adorable puppy, Kona, by their side, we hope they created more memories that will last a lifetime.

Leah and Nick’s love story is as heartwarming as it is adventurous. Their journey together has been filled with unforgettable experiences, from college days to exciting travels and the joys of puppy-parenthood. Their relationship began when Nick asked Leah to be his girlfriend outside a Chili’s! Despite the challenges of long-distance during their early years, Nick’s decision to transfer to UConn brought them closer together. College days were filled with cheering on the Huskies, creating lasting friendships, and navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Family has always been a cornerstone of their relationship. Spending quality time with both sides of the family has created countless cherished memories, from beach days and boating adventures to festive gatherings. Their love for the outdoors and exploration led them on unforgettable trips to Hawaii and Bermuda, where they created lasting memories and even found inspiration for their beloved puppy, Kona. Kona, their adorable Golden Doodle, has brought immense joy to their lives. The playful pup, named after their Hawaiian adventures, has become an integral part of their family.

When asked about that magical moment they knew they’d found “the one,” their answers were filled with warmth and admiration. Leah shared, “When I wanted nick around ALLTHE TIME I knew he was the one. He brought me so much joy and comfort when we were together and brought out the best side of me and life. He made my life and every situation better and I quickly knew he was the one when I wanted him by my side through every little moment. I am a huge family and friends person and seeing the way he also connected with my family and friends also emphasized my desire to have him around all the time. He developed close relationships with my mom and dad and especially my two younger brothers (who he has now seen grow up). I just knew that he was the one when I didn’t want to do my life without him.”

Nick echoed her sentiments, saying, “From the moment that I met Leah I always knew that she was the one. No matter what was going on in life, good or bad she was always by my side and my biggest supporter. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her support. Leah’s love was always endless and no matter where we were she made anywhere with her feel like home. Seeing how much she supports her family as well as mine warms my heart and truly makes me feel like the luckiest man alive to call her mine. Everyday that I see her I know she’s the one I want to marry, the one I want to have a family with, the one I want to grow old with and I know with her by my side I will always have a wonderful life.”

Their dream proposal story is equally enchanting. Nick chose a special spot – the “rock beach” at their family’s Rhode Island beach house. Surrounded by the beauty of the ocean, he popped the question, while Leah’s brothers looked on taking photos. Their families joined them for a celebratory dinner, marking the beginning of their exciting new chapter. They told me it was “an emotional and beautiful moment in a place that is so important to us as a couple.”

Leah and Nick’s story is a testament to the power of love, friendship, and shared experiences. As they continue to build their life together, we can’t wait to see what adventures await them next!
