Lindsay and Steve {Society Room Wedding}

Lindsay and Steve were married on St. Patrick’s Day at the Society Room in Hartford, Connecticut.  Their wedding was absolutely amazing.  Lindsay’s dream was to have a vintage-inspired DIY wedding, and she nailed it.  When I asked Lindsay what she enjoyed about the planning, she said, “I love how my immediate family on both sides are pitching in to help create the invitations and the centerpieces to really make all my ideas and dreams become a reality.”  Their family created all of the cork pieces you see, including the unity candle and the table numbers.  Lindsay’s mom made the card box.  Lindsay, a chef, baked and with the help of her aunt, decorated the cookies.  It’s very special when the whole family comes together to help create a wedding.

First, everybody got ready at the Marriott in Hartford.  Once Lindsay and Steve were all ready, we all headed over (separately!) to the Society Room for their first look.  Oh, how I love a first look!  And they made their first look a little extra special when they decided to exchange gifts themselves right afterwards.

Their ceremony was so sentimental.  Both of Lindsay’s parents met her at the bottom of the staircase and walked her down the aisle.  I love that they wrote their own vows.  Lindsay’s vows held a story from when they were nine years old together.  There were a few tears from family members.

Lindsay and Steve, thank you for allowing me to capture your day.  Your day was elegant, vintage and just perfect.
