Amy and Don weren’t interested in a perfectly choreographed day or a packed timeline. Their vision was simple: marry the person they love, celebrate with their family, and let the day unfold naturally.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Their intimate wedding at Storrowton Tavern in West Springfield, Massachusetts was filled with laughter, sweet family moments, and the joyful chaos that only children can bring. From the heartfelt ceremony on the Meeting House steps to portraits around the historic village, every part of the day reflected who Amy and Don are, relaxed, genuine, and completely focused on the people they love.
A Charming Ceremony at Storrowton Tavern
Nestled on the grounds of Eastern States Exposition, the historic Meeting House at Storrowton Tavern provided the perfect backdrop for Amy and Don’s ceremony.
Instead of a large wedding party, they surrounded themselves with the people who matter most. Family played an important role throughout the day, making the celebration feel warm, welcoming, and incredibly personal.
Amy was escorted by her brothers and her father, while Don’s son, Geoff, had the honor of officiating the ceremony. Having a son perform the wedding ceremony for his father added another layer of meaning that no elaborate décor could ever replicate. One of the most unforgettable moments came during the pronouncement. Geoff signed that they were now husband and wife before inviting Don to kiss his bride. It was an incredibly thoughtful and emotional moment that perfectly reflected the love, care, and inclusivity that surrounded their entire wedding day.
With just over thirty guests, every person present was there because they shared a genuine connection with the couple.
The Kids Stole the Show
If there was one thing everyone will remember about this wedding, it was the kids.
Amy and Don encouraged everyone to simply let the children be themselves, and it made the day even more joyful. They weren’t worried about perfect poses or getting every child to stand perfectly still. They wanted real moments. And that’s exactly what they got.
From Ring Security to the “Communication Specialist,” each child embraced their special role with enthusiasm and personality.

Amy and Don sat together reading a story to all of the children.

Amy had mentioned how much she loved the charm of the historic buildings, blooming flowers, and gardens, and they made the perfect backdrop for timeless wedding portraits.
The combination of classic New England architecture and lush greenery gave us so much variety while keeping everything within walking distance.
Throughout the portraits, Amy and Don stayed exactly as they had hoped, relaxed, smiling, and completely present with one another.
Nothing felt rushed.
Nothing felt forced.
Just two newlyweds soaking in the first moments of married life together.
Celebrating with Family
After portraits, the celebration continued with dinner shared among family and close friends.
Instead of spending the evening moving from one formal tradition to another, Amy and Don chose what mattered most: simply enjoying time together with the people they love.
Their wedding is a wonderful reminder that a meaningful celebration doesn’t require a packed reception schedule.
Sometimes the best ending to a wedding day is simply sitting around a table, sharing a meal, telling stories, and celebrating the beginning of a new chapter.
