There is something undeniably cinematic about a proposal by the sea. When Stjepan reached out a few weeks before his and Sophie’s Mystic vacation, he had a clear vision: he wanted to ask the love of his life to marry him against a backdrop that was as breathtaking as the moment itself. Their Enders Island Proposal was everything and more!
After discussing a few locations, we settled on Enders Island. This hidden gem in Mystic is famous for its stunning coastal views, gorgeous water, and dramatic rock formations. It offers a serene, romantic atmosphere that feels like a private sanctuary on the Atlantic.
Scouting the Perfect Spot
On the big day, Brian and I headed to the Island early. It had been years since I’d last walked these grounds, and I wanted to scope out the best vantage points. We found a few gorgeous spots where everything was just right and texted the options to Stjepan so he could make the final call.
Once the plan was set, we “camped out” and waited. In proposal photography, the art is in the disappearing act! We stayed out of sight so the moment remains completely authentic and private for the couple.
The Big Moment
When Sophie and Stjepan arrived at their spot, Brian and I were positioned in two separate areas to capture the scene from multiple perspectives. As Stjepan dropped to one knee, the ocean breeze was the only sound in the air.
Sophie’s reaction was everything. It was pure surprise followed by absolute joy! (And let’s talk about that ring- it is a stunning piece that she clearly adores).
After the “Yes!” and plenty of smiles, we transitioned into an impromptu engagement session, capturing that “just engaged” glow against the rocks and by the sea before they headed off to celebrate.
Congratulations to Sophie and Stjepan! It was an honor to witness and document such a beautiful milestone in such a historic Mystic location.
