They sound the same but they are a little bit different. We are a husband and wife team. We photograph and officiate elopements and intimate weddings. Here is how to pick the best choice for you.
What is an Elopement?
An elopement is a very small and private wedding. Today it is all about choice. Usually it is just the two of you. Sometimes you might bring a few very close friends or parents.
- How many guests? Usually zero to ten people.
- Where does it happen? Anywhere you want! You can go to a forest, a quiet field, or even your own home.
- What is the focus? The focus is only on your vows and your love.
Eloping is great if you want a day with no stress. You do not have to plan a big party. You do not have to worry about a huge guest list. It is a sweet way to say “I do” in a private way.
What is an Intimate Wedding?
An intimate wedding is like a big wedding but much smaller. You still have many of the same fun things. You might have a fancy dinner. You might have a cake and music. You invite the people you love the most.
- How many guests? Usually between ten and thirty people.
- Where does it happen? You might use a small garden or a cozy restaurant.
- What is the focus? The focus is on your marriage and your close friends.
An intimate wedding is perfect if you want to celebrate with your favorite people. You still get to have a beautiful party. But it is small enough to talk to every guest.
How to Choose the Best One
Think about your dream day. Does it feel quiet and private? Then an elopement is likely right for you. Do you want to eat a big meal with your family after you get married? Then an intimate wedding is a better choice.
Both ways are beautiful. Both ways allow you to focus on what matters most. That is your marriage!
