Erin and Alex exchanged vows at the beautiful Beachmere Inn in Ogunquit, Maine. From the getting ready moments, to Erin’s first look with her dad, to the emotional and hilarious ceremony and lastly their portraits, we witnessed so much joy and love on their special day. This was an intimate wedding, with only immediate family as guests, and one bff as a maid of honor.
Erin and Alex weren’t “supposed” to exchange gifts. However, after getting to know Alex over the past year, I know he just can’t resist spoiling Erin! He wrote her a thoughtful card to go with a glass plaque about marriage and the most incredible necklace, with the coordinates of where they were about to say their vows!
And speaking of details, Erin and Alex put so much meticulous attention into their details! Every little detail was designed to reflect their unique style and love story. Alex’s stepmother designed and created their florals! Erin created magazines about their love story that she gave to their guests.
The ceremony itself was a truly touching affair, held on the gorgeous grounds of the inn. With the ocean breeze whispering in the air, Erin and Alex exchanged heartfelt vows. The way Erin and Alex look at each other and communicate with just their eyes is amazing. During their ceremony, they cried, they held onto each other, and they laughed… especially when Alex’s brother “handed” them their rings.
After the ceremony, we took portraits on the iconic giant rock at the inn. Then, the tide cooperated perfectly, allowing us to capture stunning photos of the newlyweds on the beach. And we had boats and surfers in the background! How cool!!
While we didn’t photograph the family dinner, we did sneak in to capture the beauty of the memory table, centerpieces, and stunning cake. Every detail spoke volumes about the love and care that went into this special day. And of course, we had to photograph Erin’s outfit change!
When I asked Erin for her advice to engaged couples planning their weddings, she shared a valuable piece of wisdom: “You only get to do this once, so have fun!” She also encouraged brides to be open to trying on different styles of gowns, as the perfect dress might not be what you initially envision. Erin’s gown looked like it was made just for her, and it was nothing like what she thought she was going to choose!
Erin and Alex chose Ogunquit for their wedding because it’s a special place for them. Their first vacation together was in Ogunquit and now their wedding and honeymoon was in Ogunquit. What better way to start their new chapter as husband and wife than in a place that feels truly magical? I can only imagine that there will be many more Ogunquit family vacations in the future. Congratulations Erin and Alex! We are wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness together.
