Miracle Series

Hey friends and family! I’m so excited about a new project that I’ve been thinking about and planning for for a few weeks!! I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll soon be starting a “Miracle Series.” I’m hoping to feature the miracles in our communities.

All babies are born miracles. That cannot be argued. However, some of our babies have bad to fight harder than others. Some have had to fight for the first few minutes or weeks or months. Some children have had to start their fight earlier than we’d ever want them to have to, as young children. Some adults are fighting, while caring for their children, trying to hold a job and trying to keep it together for their families. These people are the miracles I’m looking to feature in this series.

These fighters deserve so much more than I could ever give them. What I can give them, though, are portraits. I want these fighters to have a day all for themselves! I want them to have some time where they aren’t worrying about medicines, whether or not they’ll feel well enough to go to a birthday party, what kind of bills are waiting at home. I want to take these pictures and gift them to our fighters. Depending on who I’m photographing, I want to take these pictures in the place where these miracles are the most comfortable or where they have the most fun- their home, a playground, a flower garden, Target!

Here’s where I need your help. Please nominate your miracle. All I need is an email with your miracle’s story written in the body. I’d love to feature all miracles, and perhaps one day I’ll be able to. At this time, please understand that I’m unable to photograph every day, and I’m going to try to choose a variety of miracles to feature.

If you send an email, please also comment here. Just a simple, “I emailed” will be sufficient. I don’t need details here, but I want to make sure I don’t miss any miracle emails.

Thank you for your help with the nominations! I can’t wait to get started!!!!

This little man was photographed on his three-month birthday and less than a week after his due date and the day he broke free from the NICU. Meet one of my favorite little fighters, Calvin.
