Rita and Joe were married at the beautiful GreatHorse Country Club in Hampden, MA. They were the second couple to get married at GreatHorse and it was really fun meeting up with them and their wedding planner to see what GreatHorse had planned for them.
I’ve known Joe for probably 30 years. He and my brother were childhood friends. They played together on their bikes and on the swings after school, they played soccer on the same teams on the weekends, they were always together in high school. Basically it was like I had two little brothers! Joe, I don’t know if you remember this, but when you were probably around 7 years old, you started calling me “WaterMELon” and you thought it was hysterical and so creative! I liked being your honorary big sister!
Joe and the guys got ready at their home in CT, while Rita, the bridal party and the moms got ready in the bridal suite at GreatHorse. The bridal suite was beautiful! You can see the ballroom from an amazing balcony in the bridal suite.
You all know how I feel about a good First Look, and I was thrilled that Joe and Rita wanted to do one. After the First Look on the bridge on the golf course, we went straight to formal portraits. Check out all those golf carts behind the bride and groom. The bridal party gave Joe and Rita a few minutes to be alone before joining us on the golf course. Well, we sure saw them coming! It’s kind of hard to miss EIGHT golf carts whizzing down the course! Because there are so many great spots for portraits at GreatHorse, we decided to do the family portraits up by the bridal suite and the Wedding Garden. It also gave us lots of variety!
The Wedding Garden had so many beautiful views. It doesn’t matter which way you look, the grounds are immaculate. The Growth Company hung up a gorgeous flower arrangement on the door of the gazebo. Sal was amazing as the Justice of the Peace. He was funny and sincere. The ceremony was really very nice. The reception was fun! As soon as the DJs opened up the dance floor, it was hopping all night!
Joe and Rita, I cannot thank you enough for trusting me with capturing the moments of your most special day. I feel honored that you chose me to be your wedding photographer.
