Devon & Jack’s Romantic Elizabeth Park Engagement Session

Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places. For Devon and Jack, it all started on stage, as fellow cast members in a student-run production of Julius Caesar. What began as a friendship soon became something deeper, and after two years of laughter, long rehearsals, and shared inside jokes, they finally decided to take a chance on love.
Now, ten years later, they’re preparing to say I do with an intimate wedding at The Foundry in Connecticut, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to capture their journey.
Devon told us that when she was just 19, she thought it would be romantic to marry Jack on their ten-year anniversary. And this year, that dream is coming true. Between them, they’ve earned six professional degrees, navigated long-distance, made multiple cross-country moves, and welcomed a beautiful baby boy. Their story is a testament to patience, timing, and deep, unwavering love.
When we asked how she knew Jack was the one, Devon shared the sweetest story. She said she was always drawn to his big-hearted nature, his piercing blue eyes, and his endless love for dogs. She realized he was special when she kept finding excuses to spend time with him, like inviting him on late-night winter walks that he never said no to. From the beginning, they’ve been each other’s constant “yes.”
Jack’s proposal was simple, romantic, and deeply personal. It was the kind of quiet magic that fits them perfectly. On a Friday night in March, he took Devon to dinner at John Davenport’s in New Haven. As the restaurant began to empty, he nervously asked her to sit back down, got on one knee, and asked her to marry him. They celebrated afterward with a glass of wine, a toast to forever, and the excitement of what’s to come.
Their Connecticut engagement session at Elizabeth Park was just as heartfelt as their story. The gardens were in bloom, the light was golden, and Devon and Jack shared that easy, joyful laughter that only comes from years of knowing and growing together. Every glance, every touch, every smile spoke of the life they’ve already built and the one they’re about to begin.
Devon and Jack, photographing your Elizabeth Park engagement session was such a joy. We can’t wait to celebrate with you soon at your intimate wedding at The Foundry, surrounded by your closest family and friends. Your love story is one for the books- timeless, genuine, and beautifully yours.
