We got to be a part of Daquan and Casey’s proposal story! Daquan first contacted me eight months ago, when he began planning this incredible evening for Casey. I will always say that any person who hires a photographer for their proposal is hands-down the most romantic person!
Casey and Daquan already had a mini vacation planned in downtown Mystic to visit family. The downtown Mystic area is one of our favorite places to photograph. Everything there is so pretty. We love the water and the boats, and the people enjoying the water and the background ambience make Mystic the perfect place for romance.
The evening started with Daquan and Casey going for a sweet walk on the pier. Brian and I obviously were too far away to hear what he was saying to her, but her smile told us it was lots of nice things. Then, as Daquan got down on one knee, Casey fully processed what was about to happen!
I think my favorite image from this night is right when Daquan pulled out the ring. Brian got Casey’s surprised face, and in the image I took, you can see Daquan holding the ring, with Casey’s reflection in his glasses. I just love it so much!
After she said yes, all of the people on the green by us, on the dock by them, and in the water started celebrating!
