Valerie and Eric’s fall wedding at The Riverview was truly one of a kind. From the sentimental details to the moments of laughter and joy shared with family, this day was filled with meaning and love. Brian and I were honored to capture every beautiful moment, and I can’t wait to share the story of their special day.
For Valerie and Eric, family was at the heart of their celebration. It was so important to them that their children were involved every step of the way. From their heartfelt first looks with their kids to the touching tree-planting ceremony, every detail reflected their deep love for one another and their desire to build a strong family foundation.
One of my favorite moments from the day came during their wedding portraits when we recreated a photo from their engagement session. The love and joy between Valerie and Eric radiated in every shot. You can see more from their engagement session here.
Valerie and Eric decided to get ready in separate locations before their ceremony, but they shared a truly beautiful first touch before the big moment. As Eric stood waiting for Valerie, he surprised her with a bouquet of roses—so romantic! They exchanged heartfelt cards they had written for each other, taking a moment to calm any pre-wedding jitters.
Their first looks with their children were incredibly sweet. My favorite part was when Valerie, being the wonderful mom she is, crouched down to tie her child’s shoes. It was such a small but meaningful moment that really spoke to the love and care she has for her family.
The ceremony was a perfect blend of joy and emotion. Valerie’s father and step-father walked her down the aisle, which made for an incredibly heartfelt moment. The couple shared vows with one another and their children, making sure that the entire family was included in their promises. One of the most touching moments was when Eric and Valerie read their vows to their children—there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
To further symbolize their commitment to one another and their family, Valerie and Eric, along with their children, participated in a beautiful tree planting ceremony. They mixed soil from their childhood homes into the earth, creating something that would grow with them in the home they’re building together as a family. It was such a meaningful and symbolic gesture.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a lively reception. The dance floor was packed all night long, with guests of all ages joining in the fun. Valerie and Eric’s cake cutting was a blast—especially with the gluten-free cupcakes Valerie had just for herself! It was a wonderful reminder that no one should ever miss out on those special moments, no matter their dietary needs.
And let’s not forget the kids’ table! The children were so well-behaved and had a blast dancing the night away. It was clear that the entire family was having a great time and celebrating the love and joy that Valerie and Eric share.
